From the Basement es un podcast y un programa de televisión que ofrece actuaciones en directo de diversos músicos. El show es filmado en alta definición en Maida Vale estudios en Londres con sonido en vivo producido por el famoso productor Nigel Godrich. From the Basement no tiene audiencia en el estuio. El podcast fue puesto en marcha el 18 de diciembre de 2006. The first UK broadcast was on Sky Arts on December 1st , 2007 and premiers in the US on Rave HD on the February 22nd 2008 . La primera emisión televisiva fue en el Reino Unido transmitida por el canal britanico Sky Artes el 1 de diciembre de 2007 y se estreno en los EE.UU. en el canal Rave HD el 22 de Febrero de 2008.

“From The Basement fue estimulante porque venía del deseo de desconectar de esa mierda que subyace entre la musica y el espectador. Conseguir una compenetración en general. Sin los egos de los directores y productores echándolo a perder. Lo más interesante para mí fue escuchar a Kieren y Steve Reid improvisando como locos desde el momento en que la cinta comienza a rodar.” – Thom Yorke
