EL chart le pertenece totalmente a Coldplay, quien al finalizar este mes si situa por 4ta semana consecutiva en el primer lugar, pero no solo eso, ademas su segundo single Viva la vida, del mismo disco Coldplay, Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends se encuentra en el segundo lugar. El video musical de Violet Hill fue filmado en Sicilia, Italia. La canción fue lanzada como el primer single del álbum el 29 de abril de 2008 en el sitio web oficial del grupo, el que ofreció la canción para su descarga de forma gratuita por una semana. Desde el 6 de mayo de 2008 su lanzamiento oficial fue bajo el formato de descarga pagada. The music video for the song was filmed in Sicily and was filmed by director/visual artist Asa Mader. The official video for the single was released on May 18. An alternative music video (named 'Dancing Politicians') was posted on Coldplay's official website on May 17. The video is made up of clips, sometimes looped, featuring various politicians and scenes of war, as well as firework displays at the end. It prominently features George W. Bush, presenting clips of him in a mocking manner. Prominent 20th century personalities, such as Fidel Castro, Richard Nixon, Hugo Chávez, Robert Mugabe, Osama Bin Laden, Saddam Hussein, Boris Yeltsin, Barack Obama, Bill and Hillary Clinton, Tony and Cherie Blair, and Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip are featured in this alternate video. Algo un poco mas alejada continua Madonna con su gran suceso comercial 4 minutes y su segundo single Give it 2 me, con mas permanencia en el chart siguen encabezando el top 10 Usher con Love in this club, Leona Lewis con otro exito como Bleeding love que no solo se posiciono del primer lugar en Reino Unido sino tambien en los Estados Unidos por tres semanas. y Duffy con su sigle Mercy.

En lo que se ha convertido como uno de los grandes sucesos comerciales no solo en Europa sino tambien en Estados Unidos, Coldplay, llega al primer lugar del este music chart con Violet Hill (en español, Colina violeta / Colina de las violetas) es el primer single del cuarto álbum de estudio de la banda de rock británico Coldplay, Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends.  Otro de los sucesos es el nuevo ingreso. Closer is a song by American R&B singer Ne-Yo. The song was produced by Stargate. "Closer" debuted at #22 in the UK Singles Chart, peaking at #2 on downloads alone after 7 weeks on the chart. Upon the release of the physical CD single, "Closer" climbed to #1, becoming his second UK number one, following "So Sick". The song jumped 15 spots from #20 to #5 on the New Zealand RIANZ Chart and has reached a peak of #3. In Ireland, "Closer" initially peaked at #12 for four weeks before jumping to #3. In the U.S, the song has peaked at #25 thus far.
